Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! This is such an exciting time! But I know it is also really busy. Prom, graduation, finalizing plans for next year and planning a graduation party – it is a lot. Below are a few graduation card tips and ideas to help. From timelines for mailing your graduation cards to tips and ideas to help you write thank you notes, I hope it helps make these next few months a little easier.

      INVITATIONS

Not sure when to send your graduation cards or invitations? Six to eight weeks prior to your graduation celebration is the perfect time. If you opt for custom graduation cards, remember they can take a few weeks to be printed. Be sure to plan a little extra time.

      Quick Tip:

Check your guest list and add a few extra graduation cards. You’ll appreciate having a handful of extra cards on hand for those ‘oops, we missed them’ moments. And, you’l want to keep a graduation card aside as a keepsake.

      THANK YOUS

If you are sending party invitations or graduation announcements, you may receive gifts! Be sure to keep thank you notes on hand.  As a rule of thumb, thank you cards should be sent within one month of your celebration or from the date you received your gift.

      Quick Tip

I get it! Writing a thoughtful thank you note can be hard. Especially figuring out what to write past the obvious ‘thank you’. Here are a few tips to help make writing your thank you cards easy:

      • Thank your guest for the specific gift they gave you.

      • Include a note about how you plan on using the gift.

      • Consider sharing a fun moment you had with them at your celebration or in life.

      • Try not to write your thank you notes all at one time. Break it up within a few days to make sure your words are thoughtfully written.

      ANNOUNCEMENTS

Not having a graduation party? Or have a lot of family and friends that live to far away to travel to your celebration? Graduations announcements are a great solution for this! Consider ordering grad announcements along with your invitations for those friends and family members so they don’t feel like they’re missing out!

Unlike grad invites, announcements are typically mailed one to two months after graduation.
