Family Photographer Hudson Ohio
As a Family Photographer in Hudson Ohio, outdoor sessions in March don’t always work out. But mother nature gave us one beautiful day in the midst of rain storms and plummeting temperatures.
Caroline (3) and Hayden (6) live in Michigan. They were visiting their grandmother for the week. And as grandmother’s do, she planned many special and fun days for her children. They went to a water park, took dance lessons, went to the Children’s museum and to open swims. And one important item on the list of fun was to meet me for a special surprise photo session.
Caroline and Hayden’s mom celebrated her birthday this week and was moving to a new house. Grandma wanted to surprise her daughter with an updated portrait of her children to hang in their new home. And I loved the idea!
Unfortunately, the day of our session poor Caroline was not feeling well. And, she was completely tuckered out from spending the weekend at a water park. She was in tears as they left the house and did not want to wear her new clothes. When they arrived, she was fast asleep in the car. Grandma explained what was going on and said we probably would not get any pictures of her, but to just get a few of Hayden.
The Solution
I offered to take Hayden for a bit so they could give Caroline a little time to adjust. When we came back, I promised her we would have lots of fun taking pictures. I told her I had a special tent set up just for her to play in. And it had a soft blanket to cuddle with and lots of books to read. She perked up and couldn’t wait to see it. She played in the tent, raced her brother down the paths, jumped off of rock and had silly moments with her brother. And the end result captured this little girls personality and created memories that her mother will cherish.

I wouldn’t have thought to do a session in March since there isn’t much greenery in Ohio at that time. But I love it!
Thanks! Their bright outfits definitely helped make that session pop off the more subtle colors of deadly spring. I loved the end result as well.
